My goal is to capture your spirit, personality, and natural expression and reflect it in my photographs. It a can be that loving glance,  an innocent smile, the big soulful eyes or the cute little pout.  I strive to create images that celebrate the simple expressions of life that we want to hold on to…playfulness, curiosity, honesty and love.  My photographic style is natural and relaxed.  Your session will be just the same – natural, relaxed, and unhurried.

Before the session

Prior to your session, we will take time to chat and get to know each other.  We can talk about what you are hoping for your session, location options, clothing suggestions, etc. You will also receive a welcome packet with more details regarding your session.  If you have questions at any time, please let me know.

Location

Your session can take place wherever you feel most comfortable.  Depending on the style of portrait, I can shoot in your home or at a favorite park, downtown for a more urban feel, at the beach or another outdoor location.  Since I work almost exclusively with natural light, mornings and late afternoons typically work best.  A cloudy ~ foggy day can produce exceptional portraits as well.  I have some favorite spots around town so feel free to ask for suggestions! 

Your session

Sessions typically last 1-2 hours – enough time to feel comfortable, relaxed, and have fun!  The location may be your home, a park, or other mutually-agreed upon outdoor location.   With children, I’ll spend some time getting to know them so they feel comfortable with me.  I also find that giving them space to explore provides wonderful opportunities for capturing the most natural and precious expressions.  For family sessions, I will probably take some “posed” pictures, but I will also ask you to just interact and have fun together so I can catch some natural moments as well.  These are often the most loved images!

Your photos

While we take a lot of photos each session, only the best of the best will be edited and loaded on the website for viewing and purchase. A typical one hour session gives us 10-25 beautiful shots you can be proud of to show off to family and friends ! All of your photos will be posted in an online gallery for you to review. Through this website, you can order prints from a high quality, professional lab that I work with and trust. They offer a variety of prints, products (magnets, prints on canvas, stickers, etc.), and digital files whose color and quality is what you would expect from any professional lab. Prints typically arrive between 5-10 business days after you order them through the site, unless you choose expedited shipping.
