Birthdays are always fun, but a celebration of gorgeous decorations, and costume masks makes everything that much better. Tammy's birthday was filled with amazing lighting, beautifully carved king and queen chairs, custom costume masks, great food and a festive atmosphere. The fun filled night is captured on each guest's face as they enjoyed celebrating a milestone birthday with Tammy. Enjoy the masquerade ball!

Each wedding season I count down the days until the Bridal Show at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk. This year we had the most amazing vendors, and guests. Our amazing team of Vicki Figg, Sales Manager and Matthew Edward, our Event décor guru created a peaceful Garden Wedding Experience for everyone! Each guest entered the garden theme venue listing to the amazing string trio and the sounds of a gorgeous water fountain. They continued under the garden archway to enter the vendor hall featuring the best of the best in Hampton Roads! It was exciting to see and sample some amazing wedding cakes and to sip on Mimosas. The wedding day vendors featured make up, jewelry, photographers, event lighting and décor. The highlight for me was the gorgeous dresses on display and the fashion show.(I want to renew my wedding vows just to wear the cream dress!!) The Hilton Culinary team featured appetizers and a tasting of wine with a cause. The favorite by far was the bubbly Peach Moscato. ! Each and every vendor at the show truly loves what they do, and it showed in the quality of their booths!
Please help me extend a huge amount of appreciation to all of our amazing vendors for the HGI Bridal Show.

For the last two years the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk at Harbourview has joined the city of Suffolk in celebration of National Night Out. This is the perfect time for the community, city officials as well as the Suffolk Police Department and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Department to come together to promote involvement in crime prevention . This event does a great deal to strengthen police – community relationships. We had a great group of Firefighters from Engine 5 that helped teach the kids safety tips, gave an overview of how they used the different pieces of equipment, and gave them a chance to “drive” the fire truck. A dance party, featuring Hampton Roads DJ helped kick off the night. The evening was full of line dances, limbo contests, musical chairs and hula hoops! Everyone snacked on hamburgers and hotdogs, and finished it off with ice cream sundaes! The finale for the night was the arrival of Sparky – the Fire Dog. We were so pleased to meet so many new faces and to celebrate police, fire and community involvement. We can’t thank Curtis from Hampton Roads DJ, for doing such a great job being our host for the evening and keeping the activities flowing. We are so thankful for the great turnout and look forward to seeing everyone next year at the Hilton Garden Inn !

There are just some things that remind you of summer: spending time with friends, enjoying the blistering heat with a dip in the pool and birthday parties (I was a summer baby….what can I say)
I had a blast spending time with Alysha for her birthday. Hope you enjoy the photos.
Happy Birthday Alysha !

There are very few times in your life in which you can truly appreciate the wonder of life, and how everything so gracefully comes together. For me it’s hard not to smile at any mom I pass by that is pregnant. Maybe it’s the knowledge that only other moms can truly understand what it is to go through those long nine months, or how the blessing of the first few minutes with your new child makes you forget everything else you had to endure up to that point. I had the true pleasure of photographing Shelly and her family as they look forward to their new arrival. I love that feeling when you snap a photo and you know you’ve captured pure emotion. From the love of parents to their unborn child to the true joy that comes from the little guy that’s about to be a big brother. Thanks to everyone for enduring a warm, sunny day at Bennett’s Creek Park, and for allowing me to capture your expanding family.
Cheers to a healthy, happy baby girl!

Just a few shots from our recent day trip to Rodanthe , North Carolina. I love, love , love road trips to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. From the countless fresh produce stands to the local restaurants that treat you like family. You simply can’t beat the southern charm and relaxation that comes from the Outer Banks. We drove deep into the area, passing damaged bridges and signs of rebuilding after the past few years of hurricanes and strong storms. This is my idea of heaven….family close….a simple calm pattern to the waves, sun on your face and not a cloud in the sky.

Senior Prom….wow… the memories. It seems to be one of the times in our lives that years later you can quickly remember every detail about. Countless hours were spent picking a dress, picking a color and managing every aspect down to the final detail. With all of those details, the images from prom remain. With all of the preparation that goes into Prom, all I could keep thinking when I saw Carollene was stunning, simply stunning. This was definitely one of those times that when you looked through the lens and snapped the photos you smiled from ear to ear…knowing you captured some beautiful shots. Send Carollene some Senior Prom Love! Enjoy

San Diego is one of my favorite cities!
I love the architecture, the huge palm trees, the water views and the amazing food in this area. I was beyond excited when I realized that the 2013 Hilton Garden Inn Conference I was to attend for work was going to be in San Diego. In true Hilton style, we had a great tour and dinner at the San Diego Zoo, free time to explore the Gaslamp District and amazing views and service from the Hilton Bayfront. As soon as my meetings were finished each day, I grabbed my camera headed out to explore.
Enjoy!

Every bride has endless details to finalize for the special day arrives. As a professional in the hospitality industry I’ve worked over 20 weddings this year, I know that each wedding is unique and some flow exactly as planned and others…well … let’s just say they don’t go exactly as planned. I do know that we have worked extensively with a handful of vendors that time and time again make each wedding day work flawlessly for the bride and groom. We breathe a huge sigh of relief when we hear from a bride that they have contracted with one of our vendors, because we know that is one less detail we need to attend to that day. That is why we are so excited each year at my hotel to host our annual Bridal Show. The day is spent watching the fashion show models get their hair and makeup complete for their runway walk! It showcases the vendors for gowns, tuxes, jewelry, photos, hair, makeup, linens, décor, photo booth, DJ’s....etc. (Can’t forget to mention the awesome banquet space and catering at the Hilton Garden Inn) It is a celebration of each vendor we work with, and the opportunity to showcase what they do best to all of the Hampton Roads Brides. I was pleased to snap a few photos both during the event and behind the scenes to give a glimpse into how fun these events can be! Huge thanks goes to out to all of our preferred vendors for all of their hard work in making the day a success. When you’re booking your big day, give them a call…they really love what they do and it shows in their work!

Being in the travel industry…I put much time and effort into the perfect honeymoon get away. There were some excellent options…but in the end we chose a Western Caribbean Carnival Cruise. With port stops in Mexico, Belize, Isle of Rotan and the Cayman Islands, our cruise was the perfect mix of rest, relaxation, fine dining and FUN. In addition to all of the fun and sun….the trip was also a photographers dream…..from Manny’s postcard photos of the other ships at sea to the lifestyle shots of sandy beaches and fun in the sun! We are already planning our next Cruise…this time with the kids ... and more new and exciting locations to visit !

How quickly the time has flown by…. I can hardly believe that Christmas is next week. I’ve decided to take a step back and to soak in and enjoy everything about this wonderful holiday. I love how your favorite Christmas music can get stuck in your head…and because everyone else knows the songs…they become contagious. I think every gift should have bows and ribbons…to make the excitement of opening the gift just that much better. I love the smell of cookies baking in the oven, and the laughs that occur while we are decorating them. I love, love, love the twinkle of the lights on the tree and that magical glow it seems to give the whole house.
This time of year, it seems people go out of their way to be just a bit friendlier. They send holiday cards to let you know they’re thinking of you and wish you the best for the holidays and the New Year. I have the pure joy and blessing of working with and being surrounded by the most wonderful friends and family. Being a small part of their lives and seeing their joy at the holiday times makes it just that much better.
The New Year always brings a trip down memory lane of the last year’s experiences and a look to the future of those experiences yet to come.
Happy Holidays from our family to yours….may the New Year bring you Joyous Blessings !!!

Words can’t express how you feel on your wedding day. Before friends, family and God, you express your vows to become husband and wife. As I experience the full meaning of the day, one word comes to mind…
LOVE
Author Unknown
Love is a friendship that has caught fire.
It is a quite understanding,
Mutual confidence,
Sharing and forgiving.
It is loyalty through good and bad.
It settles for less than perfection,
And makes allowances for the human weakness.
Love is content with the present.
It hopes for the future and it doesn’t brood over the past.
It’s the day in and day our chronicle of irritations, problems, compromises,
Small disappointments, big victories, and working toward common goals.
If you have love in your life,
It can make up for a great many things you lack.
If you don’t have it,
No matter what else is there,
It is not enough,
So search for it, ask God for it,
And share it!

Every once in a while , in the busy routine of day to day life there comes a beautiful warm fall day that instantly plucks you from your normal routine and demands that you take the day off...soak up the sun....explore the fall colors on the trees...smile and laugh with your family....and just enjoy the day. Nestled in the week before Thanksgiving was a perfect day to escape reality and just enjoy nature, family and sunshine. When I close my eyes I can hear the sound of the wheels on Cody's skateboard when he slowly glides past. I can hear the crushing of leaves under our feet as we talk through the paths to explore deeper and deeper into the trees. I can see the ripple of the waves of boats gone past...and the laughter of families and friends enjoying the day. Days like this are a blessing and a gentle reminder that there is always that peace and tranquility of the park and the trees. It's there for you...you just have to take the time to enjoy it...to seek it out and to let it in. I hope everyone finds the time within the upcoming Thanksgiving week to just sit back and soak up the joy of nature, friends and family. Many, many wishes of Thanksgiving to everyone this time of year....enjoy the season!
